FENCE QUESTIONS
What style of fence is best for high winds in Western New York?

For windy areas near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, board-on-board shadowbox wood fences or ornamental steel/aluminum fencing allow heavy gusts to pass through without blowing panels over. If installing solid vinyl privacy, we use heavy-gauge internal aluminum post stiffeners.

How deep are your fence posts set?

Every structural post is dug 36 to 42 inches into the ground and anchored in high-strength commercial concrete. This prevents frost jacking and leaning fences after spring thaw.

How close to my property line can a fence be installed?

Setback rules vary by town (typically right on the property line or 6–12 inches inside). Stoneleaf coordinates Dig Safely NY 811 utility markouts and reviews boundary surveys before digging.
