PERGOLA QUESTIONS
Can a pergola handle heavy Buffalo lake-effect snow loads?

Yes. Our pergolas and pavilions are structurally engineered for up to 50 lbs/sq ft snow loads, utilizing oversized 6x6 or 8x8 posts and heavy notched roof purlins secured with structural timber screws.

What is the difference between an open pergola and a solid roof pavilion?

An open pergola provides partial shade and architectural framing for climbing vines or string lights. A pavilion or cabana features a solid shingled or standing-seam metal roof providing 100% rain, snow, and sun protection.

Can you wire electrical outlets, fans, and heaters into the structure?

Yes. We route concealed internal electrical conduits through the posts and rafters for overhead outdoor ceiling fans, recessed LED lighting, television mounts, and infrared patio heaters.
